Our Lady of Guadalupe Celebration, St Mary's Church and Knights of Columbus Museum, New Haven, CT, Sep 9. 2009. Votive Mass celebrated by Archbishop Henry Mansell, Archbishop of Hartford with homily preesented by Bishop William Lori, Bishop of Bridgeport and Supreme Chaplain. Lecture following Mass was given by Msgr Eduardo Chavez, co-author of the book Our Lady of Guadalupe: Mother of the Civilization of Love. Carl Anderson, the other co-author and Supreme Knight, gave a short speech at the K of C Museum and along with Msgr Chavez, signed copies of the best selling book. A relic of the tilma from St Juan Diego was paraded through the streets of New Haven in a procession between St Mary's and the K of C Museum where a Mexican fiesta was held to celebrate this historic event. Veneration of the relic and the opening of a new art exhibit featuring Our Lady was held on the 2nd floor of the museum. The line for veneration was 100 deep for 2 hours with those waiting participating in praying the rosary.
