St Philip the Apostle Church in Ashford held a Mardi Gras Dinner on February 25th following the Saturday evening Mass. Father Christopher Zmuda played host to about 75 people for a scrumptous dinner. Chef Donald Froehlich and his assistant John Bergeron cooked up some mighty fine food including pot roast with gravy, a cajun rice and bean dish and a wonderful chicken gumbo. Most of the children held back on the dinner so they could make an early trip to the sweet tooth table. The dessert table was filled with cookies, cakes and ice cream. No one went home hungry.
